On the up side, they are quite large (the bathrooms in particular are huge) and have a nice size sitting area with a sofa. The good news is that the Orleans has free parking, so you won't get charged for parking the car when you return, which is a big advantage over the Strip properties, who are now charging even hotel guests for parking ! The rooms are a bit tired-looking in terms of decor, but that can be said about a lot of Vegas properties these days. Don't choose this option if you don't have a car, and be warned that the on-Strip hotels charge for parking now so you are limited in where you can park it (the Venetian allows free parking, but that is a LOT of walking if you park there and walk everywhere else, as we discovered when we tried it the first night). Obviously, the fact that it isn't on the Strip or downtown means you will be doing a lot of driving. On previous trips to Vegas, my husband and I have chosen on-Strip hotels, so we decided to go off-Strip this time and chose the Orleans.
It's always difficult to choose between the convenience of an on-Strip hotel and the lower price of an off-Strip hotel.
